I totally agree. This crap might have passed before, but the democrats are changing their tune on issues like the military to prove it is them that is not out of the mainstream. What happened right after the most horrific attack on America? People flocked to the churches to pray and the Bible quickly became a best seller. This is just about the dumbest political plan I could think of barring something like outright support for Osama Bin Laden. I hope the democrats do this because its such a stinker, but I don't think they are that stupid.
While I agree with you, my fear is that as time separates us from 9/11, so will it separate us from our resolve.
When my middle son was in high school, three classmates were in a horrific automobile accident. The driver was a 15 year old girl without a license. She survived. One girl died (I can't remember the fate of the other girl). It was the weekend of a big high school dance and they were on their way to the mall to get their nails done.
This was in a village not far from Syracuse where traffic fatalities are big news (unlike metro Atlanta where traffic fatalities occur every single day). I remarked "I hope this makes them think before doing something stupid." The assistant principal (an ex-NY State Trooper) told me while the kids are upset and truly grieving, they are still teenagers. It quickly becomes abstract and once again they will go back to being teenagers and doing the stupid things teenagers do. He was right.
I am afraid that as more time passes, it will be easier for the dems to demonize Chrisitians. It isn't a new plan, after all, who wanted to hold bubba to high standards? The VRWC, of course. Bubba demonized anything on the "right" a long time ago.
Which is why it is important to never, ever forget 9/11. When the pain becomes distant, it is important to look at the pictures, the see the bodies falling from the air, to find the clips of those planes going into the WTC. Never, ever forget.
