2. Rumsfeld will thank him for a job well done on the disinfo campaign.

You are right -- if the report is true. But there is a third possibility, which is that the report is entirely false. The media does false reporting more often than the general public realizes. At the moment, all the news organizations are falling all over themselves to be the first to report the hottest news about the war -- and they are not above deliberately putting out a false story as chum to stir the waters. Also, never lose sight of the fact that the media is overwhelmingly Leftist in its viewpoint, and wants to bring President Bush down several pegs in public esteem. So we already are beginning to see opinion pieces that complain the war is coming to an inconclusive end -- when the entire administration has made it clear we have just concluded the first phase but there is much still to do. And much that we may never know about.
