Actually, I am just here to poke fun

There is a certain type of woman who automatically equates power with sex. Remember Kissingers famous quote? "Power is the ultimate aphrodesiac"

And remember "Stormin Norman" was voted sexiest man in the universe or something or another right after Desert Storm.

If he drove a cab and wore overalls or worked the drive up window at Burger King none of these people would give him the time of day.

The Democrats have them also, Remember the women who wished they were Monica (and were blunt about it) after the scandal broke?

The difference between Rumsfeld and Bubba is that ONLY Democrats and like-minded sorts ever saw his appeal. Sane people never bought his act.

But Rummy seems to have bewitched the Libs even. And the press. I don't think it's just a matter of power. It's also the humor mixed in.

And the fact that we are winning the war that he is leading does not hurt. In uncertain times we tend to look to people who cannot be ruffled. People who roll up their sleeves - no whining - no second-guessing - and just get the job done.

I admit it, I'm shallow that way...avoiding losers and desiring the powerful.
Yeah, Rummy's hot!
:0)

But the difference is that we Rumsfeld fans don't want him to do anything that would violate his marriage vows and we enjoy the fact that he seems to be in a long and happy marriage. To many of us, that's more attractive than a high-profile married man who's easily available for nookie.

I think that we feel safe and protected with him, and that's his primary attraction -- that he's a *guy*, not some wimp trying to "feel our pain."

I, for one, get a major kick out of him talking about "killing the enemy," not using weasel-speak like "degrading their war-making capabilities."

He's tough and not afraid of the tough decisions and their consequences. He also knows that the military is here to fight our wars - to kill people and break things, not be permanent "peacekeepers" and global social workers.

In other words, he's just what we need right now -- a throwback to a time when our government wasn't afraid of being a superpower and wasn't trying to apologize for our strength (as Maddy "Mad Bomber" Halfwit did).

WHEW! Glad we got that cleared up!

Seriously, what you said in the second post does make a lot of sense. While I do admire Rummy, he certainly does not make my heart go pitter patter! Guess I see him more as a father figure than a stud muffin.

Yes, but speaking as a guy, nothing outraged me more than to see women swoon after Bill Clinton for no reason other than that he was powerful.

Donald Rumsfield, however, is a man of character. He didn't get to where he is by lying, he got there by hard work and sacrifice. He deserves the respect that women are giving him.

(And the other nice thing about guys with character is that they stick with their wives and don't take all the other chicks from the rest of us guys!)

You mean the White House press corps?

Those women were idiots! And bimbos for wanting to have sex with a married man. I know Bubba and the Hildebeast do not have a "real" marriage, but still...

Now, Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld...THOSE are attractive men! And I hope they are faithful to their wives, because that makes them even more attractive!

There is a certain type of woman who automatically equates power with sex.

And a certain type of man who automatically equates big breasts with sex... and probably some who equate tiny feet with it, too... takes all kinds. To say that if Stormin' Norman wore overalls and worked at a Burger King, he wouldn't have been called sexy is like saying that if Britney Spears weighed 400 pounds, men wouldn't be drooling over her. Duh.

Just goes to show that women are interested in a man's mind, and men are interested in a woman's body. </tongue-firmly-in-cheek>
