For those of you hung up on the abortion issue, I will ask LOUD AND CLEAR........ what have you done to lower the abortion rate. Do you let the pregnant girls know you will adopt their babies? Do you help them through their pregnancies? Do you help them emotionally, psychologically, or offer to help them financially when they have their babies? Do you make sure that these babies don't grow up to be murderers - who you then - 18 years later - send to the electric chair? I'd like some of these questions answered by those of you who are soooo adamantly PRO LIFE!!!! Please give me your answers and/or solutions to these REALISTIC issues, instead of just harping on all the babies that are "murdered."
I served (until very recently) on the corporate board of Mom's House. We have 13 houses in 4 states. We provide free daycare and scholarships so that mothers can earn a degree and keep their babies while still being a productive member of society. We give them food, clothing, baby supplies, rides to appointments, and we arrange employment after they complete their education.
I donate the secong floor of my office to Precious Life for free. I could get $500 per month rent. So that is $6000 per year, or 20% of my yearly income. Precious life is a crisis pregnancy counseling center that provides baby clothes, supplies, testing etc for women with unplanned pregnancies. They operate a home for pregnant mothers, and arrange employmment, education, grants, scholarships, etc. They help the girls with medical appointments and medical expenses too, and provide other services too numerous to list.
My wife and I teach married couples NFP, which is as effective as the pill. This natural option, with no side effects, is 100% in accord with God's Word and His plan for limiting and spacing pregnancies (unless you want flamed, do not try to tell me NFP does not work. I'm a physician, I use it, I teach it. I know it works.) Furthermore since the pill causes early spontaneous abortions, we are offering a pro-life, safe alternative to dangerous chemical contraceptives that kill newly conceived babies.
I am also a free lance author, writing educational materials and articles on Culture of Life options to counter Culture of Death propaganda. I give talks to teens on chastity so they don't get into unplanned pregnancies in the first place. I stress the medically documented failure rates of contraceptives, especially their astronomical failure rates at preventing STD's.

What are YOU doing for these moms? What are you personally doing to end abortions?
Few pro-lifers brag about their behind the scenes work. I certainly do not, but you demanded answers.
Pro-lifers do not protest abortion in a vaccuum.
They are the ONLY ones offering real help to real women, while people like you only scream and whine.
Please stop your screaming and join us pro-lifers who silently offer real alternatives while people like you offer only empty propaganda...

But most of them opt to kill them or keep them themselves. If you knew ANYTHING about the paucity of babies available for adoption, you simply would not make this point, because it plays into our hands!
There are no/few babies available for adoption because you propagandists have convinced these women its better to kill them or keep them than give them up.

You and your ilk have created the shortage of babies available for adoption by this kind of bilge and blather, and by your abortion on demand, and your liberal social programs that rewarded welfare recipients for having more babies and keeping them. You're the only one who answered my questions - and if true, you put your money where your mouth is. BRAVO!!! For your actions are the only CURE for this problem, IMO. I hope you keep it up.
My contribution??? I've adopted two unwanted babies, before they were even born. Also I've helped in a small way, a Black Republican for Life group in Houston. They do crisis management with young pregnant girls and young boys on drugs - and they have been VERY effective.
Again, BRAVO to you. You're RARE!!!

Not hardly. Most pro-lifers who do the kind of stuff I listed do it silently, humbly, suffering persecution patiently. Me? I'm too prideful to sit here and listen to this BS, so I bragged.
Pride is not rare.
The quiet humble types...they're rare, but they make up the vast majority of the militantly pro-life minority. They put the lie to the pro-abort rant that pro-lifers do nothing to aid the mother.
Thanks, Doc. As someone recently told me, sometimes you just have to say what has to be said and let G-d take care of the rest.
