I can't believe that the Times actually published this.

Which may mean that we are on the right track, but a grass-root movement is still needed before any action is taken.

I don’t understand how the fact that immigrants have an income below that of the average American implies anything about the income of those that are not immigrants. Just because immigrants are making less money than average has no effect on what non-immigrants make. Before there is a real complaint you need a study showing that the income of non-immigrants has somehow dropped, not just the average income in high immigrant communities.

Canada is a hotbed for terrorists as they have ignored them for so long. Mexico is an economic basket case that can't provide its workers jobs along with the rest of south and central America. Seal the borders and don't allow everyone in. Australia has a system of selective immigration. If you are worth something, meaning if you have money or a professiion worth a crap you can come. Unlike America that lets in anyone especially freak shows. Put the military on the borders and close them.

With Bush in the White House the borders won't be closed.

Before 9-11 Bush was in favor of giving amnesty to illegal aliens.

Remember he also said, "Islam is a peaceful religion."

The USA has prospered because of God's blessings to a Christian nation. The USA had better not turn its back on its only REAL security and wealth.

I have never looked at the NYTimes on-line. My first & last purchase of their rag was approx 14 yrs ago. They, like the major TV networks, are in desperate need of attention. Recall that they were essentially dead-in-the-water some 6-8 yrs ago & had to re-organize their entire business plan. They might try to out-do Mat Drudge next.

I lived seven years in Western Europe. Everytime I befriended a European, they would always ask me, "Why can't we immigrate to the United States?"

The premise of "closing the borders" is fantasy land. Making the borders fully secure so that NO illegal people can cross should be the goal. But, in the long run, we live and work in a global economy, so the borders must stay open for commerce to thrive. The day when America has no immigrants who want to come here will be a dark day indeed.

Not only must the borders be closed here, but in all of the illegals should be shipped out. This will only happen if we work on our Congressmen. Actively participate in their town meetings, go to their local offices, and make yourself known.

The borders must be sealed and no more Moslems should be allowed to immigrate to this country. They have proven that they put their so-called 'religion' above their duties to this country. They will never change and they should not be allowed here. There has been no blanket condemnation of the criminal bin Laden here. There is no indication that their sentiments are in favor of the USA winning this war against terrorism. They continue to support organizations that PAY THE FAMILIES of suicide bombers. They are disgusting.
