Thanks for the info...I'll check it out. He's my favorite radio guy, ahead of even Rush. The man at least has different views than strictly 'party line' Repub.
O'Reilly would bring the same fresh perspective to the air also. I've read some of the transcripts from the FoxNews site, and ol' Bill knows how to ask pointed questions of everybody. I'd give it a listen, if I can pick up a station, since we're pretty much Clear Channel exclusive around here.

Bill O'Reilly: bring it on! Competition is what makes the capitalist world go 'round. Rush would be the first to agree with this. This can only make both shows better.
Personally, I would switch to O'Reilly in a minute. Rush has bored me to tears ever since he talked about his golf, cigars, and celebrity dinners more than about current events. This happened years ago, before there was any issue with hearing loss. Perhaps some serious competeition will shake up Rush and get him back to the style that got him to the top in the first place.

Personally, I would switch to O'Reilly in a minuteI was an O'Reilly fan while he was attacking Greenspan and others in the ruling class elite, but he lost me recently when he began pushing the WTC victimhood crap and began featuring several ungrateful slugs crying about how hard they had to "work" to get their millions in charity.
Rush has his problems with dumb talk about cigars and golf which is a total bore, but he did have the common sense not to step into the populist "victimhood" trap that O'Reilly jumped into with both feet.
Both these guys will do just fine. Satellite radio is coming and is going to be big. Plenty of work for these guys and big contracts to go with it.
The big question that I have is what is going on with Geraldo now that even his liberal friends at CNN are attacking him. Now that is going to be an interesting fight as they seem to have gotten Geraldo PO'ed at them.

Oriely should be commended for using his bloody pulpit to do some real good for the families hurt by this tragedy. I disagree that he is a class pedler. He wouldn't do anything like this outside of these circumstances, and these families have been hurt economicaly not out of their own laziness or refusal to work but out of a terroist act

O'Reilly will also join Westwood's stellar lineup of radio talent, which includes Don Imus, Laura Ingraham, Tom Leykis, G. Gordon Liddy and Jim Bohannon.
Stellar?
I think Don Imus might be on some station out of Everett, WA...but I haven't seen nor heard any ads for him in over a year.
Laura Ingraham. WHO!!?!?!?
Tom Leykis -- people still listen to him? He's on some Seattle station, but much like Imus, he seems to come and go from station to station around here.
G. Gordon Liddy -- Again, if he's on a Seattle station somebody please clue me in as to which one...
Jim Bohannon -- isn't he just a remake of the "Fabulous Sports Babe"???
This is a "stellar" line up?
Bill will be in good company then... a bunch of has-beens and never-weres

O'Reilly often talks about how he just cares about the "folks" and has a general anti-business tone. He is not against big government. I watch him regularly and like his activism, but I do not think he has a well-defined political belief system that will allow him to do 15 hours a week of unscripted radio, including handling callers.
On his show each night, he delivers a couple of prepared statements (monologues), interviews a guest or two, reads selected viewer e-mail ("keep it pithy"), shows a reply to make him look psychic and often rants a bit. Maybe 10-15 minutes a night of unscripted "top-of-the-head" commentary. This compared with 150 minutes or more a day on radio, covering a MUCH BROADER range of topics. I don't think he can handle it.

Oreilly might be OK...but why is he on at the same time as Rush? Is he out there to compete or to educate? Whose side is he on?

I don't really know what it is about O'Reilly, but i disagree with him much more than i agree with him, and i hardly find much to disagree with Rush on, except on many nationalist ideals both share. Even though as a libertarian i should disagree with both somewhat nationalist figures, Rush seems to really think the issues through while O'Reilly simply seems to "investigate" things blindly.
My two cents.

Every once in a while, O'Reilly will take on a topic I know something about. When that happens, it's apparent he doesn't have a clue.
