Has anyone here considered the possibility of say Senator Dashle or Rep. Dick Gephardt running for prez? Dashle could play obstructionist for 4 years, then claim nothing got done, and run. Gephardt would like to do that, but since he's the house, he don't mean a goddamn thing.

"little-man Tommy" Daschle is going to be running scared by 2004, after the Jr. Senator from SD Tim Johnson loses his seat in 2002 to John Thune (run-John-run). And, once Daschle is the Minority Leader again after 2002 he will be in no strong position to launch a run.

Daschle won his re-election in the 1998 general election with 162,000 votes to his opponents 95,000 votes. This is a small man from a small place who thinks he speaks for America. If there was ever a chance for a 'celebrity' candidate to swoop in, move to SD, and run for Senator (ala the Hildabeast), this is the place. Calling Rush Limbaugh, do you want to be a Senator?-- Move to SD, it's close to the Mayo Clinic as well.

ref your #78....Yeah, me! Daschle is doing his best to upstage President Bush right now and I always thought Gebhardt would if he had the chance....he has always wanted to be Speaker of the House but I think he would jump for the chance to be President.
