Can you imagine the adrenaline rushing through the veins of those passengers?

There'll never be another hijacking of an American plane ever again. I bet you Jeremy Glick and the rest of the Flight 93 heroes kicked those terrorist's ass BIG TIME, I know I would thinking about my family and friends, knowing my wife would become a widow as I'm bitch-slapping a terrorist....

They drugged him and made him watch "Legally Blonde"? Oh boy, we're going to be hearing from Amnesty International on this one.

These folks are WONDERFUL.

It's pure instinct

That, and a few million people praying for God to protect our country and fight with us against terrorists ... I am convinced that one of the reasons that the Pennsylvania heroes succeeded was because by the time that flight got taken over, millions of people had realized there was a need to fall on their knees, their faces, and pray for God to intervene, having seen the WTC and Pentagon attacks. I am very grateful that the PA plane was detained on the tarmac for 40+ minutes. I am very grateful to those heroes of the PA plane, and certainly add these Paris to Miami passengers to the list of good people rising to a big challenge.

Watch for the New York Times editorial describing how the American flying public is a group of savage, uncivilized vigilantes.

On 9/11, a family friend was mid-Atlantic on a flight from Europe to the U.S. when the N.Y. towers were struck. Without telling passengers, the plane turned around and headed back. About the time it would normally land in the U.S., the sky had become lighter on the RIGHT side of the plane when normally this would happen on the LEFT. They were then told a national emergency had occurred. To the passengers this suggested a nuclear blast on American soil was responsible for lighting the upper atmosphere to the north, on the right side. It was not until they landed in Europe and were 70 miles away in a hotel, that they were told what happened.

What's the bottom line? Passengers were knowingly kept in the dark, to give the crew time to look critically at who might fit a terrorist profile, and to keep passengers from becoming agitated. Although passengers suffered no damage, they passed through a surreal situation where nuclear holocaust, present tense, seemed possible.

I guess the perp will be needing some of this.

In a related matter, a man named Achmed Muhammed, from Peoria, filed suit saying he had been "profiled" by airport security and denied a flight following the Flight 63 incident.
Achmed's shoes

We Have Got to Start REAL Profiling!!

lesseehere:
Swarthy appearance. Check.
Brand new passport. Check.
No luggage on long overwater flight. Check.

Ring any alarm bells, anyone? We mess around patting down 75-year-old women who are 4th generation American grandmothers from Des Moines, and we don't have the time to properly identify and closely check out scum like this. We are insane, and PC must die.

A law enforcement source who asked not be identified said Reid was not Middle Eastern.

Bravo Sierra. He sure fits the appearance profile. He's probably British or French, but from people who are from the Middle East or Southwest Asia. Maybe he's not carrying a Saudi passport (you know, those friendly Saudi allies?), but he sure looks of ME/SA extraction at first glance to me.

From Dorothy Rabinowitz in the WSJ:

Was he saying, reporter Steve Kroft asked, that at the security screening desks, a 70-year-old white woman from Vero Beach, Fla., would receive the same level of scrutiny as a Muslim young man from Jersey City?

He would hope so, Mr. Mineta replied.

The secretary explained that he put his faith in the Federal Aviation Authority's computer profile system, which does not consider race, ethnicity, national origin or religion but instead tracks information on the passenger's travel history, information from the CIA and the FBI, and certain other criteria. "Things," Mr. Mineta said, "like did you pay cash for this ticket or charge it on a credit card. Do you have a one-way ticket or round trip." But the men who flew into the World Trade Center did not have one-way tickets and they did not use cash, Mr. Mineta agreed. In this case, he also agreed those triggers would not have worked. Even so, the secretary held firmly to the view that that no group should be singled out for scrutiny.

About that Mr. Abrams had more to say. We had been attacked, he pointed out, and the one thing that the attackers have in common so far is their national origin and their sex and their language. "And for us to say, well, you know, we just can't think about that…we'll just put that aside because -- call it political correctness, call it anything -- we just won't think about because it makes us feel uncomfortable, is an appalling act of malfeasance."

.................................

Mineta, a Clinton Cabinet member (Commerce), is an idiot and ought to be fired.

Dugeon said Reid told the passengers was Jamaican, but they didn't believe him. A law enforcement source who asked not be identified said Reid was not Middle Eastern.

Anyone who says this guy doesn't look Middle Eastern, including newswire services citing unnamed sources, should be arrested for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

I am being the devil's advocate here: Does civil aviation allow the trial to be held at the point of departure or the destination or the country where the plane is flagged? The French would probably let the would be bomber go and throw the guys that beat the tar out him in a dungeon.
