At this point I am going to print out good threads for her. She is bright for her age but is very sheltered.

"What are you waiting for? - I was waiting until my brother could go, or I would have been in line with the other geeks on Wed."
So, are you gonna be in line with or without the brother this year. lol

My brother is going with me tonight to the midnight show!

It is no surprise this guy got it wrong, in the 60s the anti-war groups claimed it supported their views - didn't make Tolkien too happy either! Today sadly, many of the group that made the films are also claiming it supports their anti-war, pro environmentalist and other agendas that anyone with eyes to see are the antithesis of what the book is all about. Guess blind men can make great movies and still not 'get' what they are about. I'm just glad they make them so well!

What a great brother.

There was a documentary I saw on PBS (an old one from the seventies) that made it clear that Tolkien had a deep love of nature, and that he therefore made a point of portraying the destruction of nature in his book as a clear negative. The problem is, there is a difference between his simple love of nature and the environmental extremism that exists in America. Those who believe the LOTR promotes a political agenda put aside the real story, the story of character, courage, and resisting temptation. Maybe they can't see the forest for the trees!
You're right; at least can make a good movie. I'll be putting the Two Towers to the test this afternoon. :)
