To: <1/1,000,000th%; Dan from Michigan
Dan had said yesterday on another thread that background checks are required at gun shows, even when a purchase is made from a private party. Certainly this is true in California. A purchase made from a private party needs to go through a federally licensed dealer acting as a transfer agent, who does the background check. Could it be the Brady Bunch is lying?

Handguns, yes.(IN MICHIGAN)

Rifles - All dealers.

Private collections, not rifles, but if you are selling a lot of guns without an FFL, be prepared to deal with the BATF.
