I want my Christmas left alone!

I am so tired of hearing people complain about the use of the term Christmas. Throughout this CHRISTMAS season, I have heard about people left and right complaining about the term Christmas. There was the situation with Santa Clause being banned from the town lighting of the Christmas tree in a town in Maryland because two families were "offended" by Old St. Nick. In another town, people were upset by Red poinsetta's being used in a flower arrangement. So white one's were used instead but the town went nuts because somebody snuck in a red one. On Neal Bortz today, he said a woman went to a mall yesterday with the intent of giving the first sales rep $100.00 who told her Merry Christmas. Did you know not one rep said that to her? I am a department manager in a retail store, and tomorrow thru Dec 24th, I am going to make sure I say Merry Christmas as often as I can. I'm sorry Jews are offended by Christmas. I'm sorry Muslims are offended by Christmas. But get over it! I am offended every day by numerous items. Here are some examples: It offends me that abortion is still legal in this country. Bill Clinton offends me. Hillary Clinton offends me. Al Gore offends me. The ACLU offends me. The events of 9/11 offend me. Martin Luthor King day offends me. My ex-wifes drug dealing husband offends me. That's just the beginning of the list, but you know what? I get over it. I also go to the Lord in prayer about alot of these things, especially my ex-wifes husband. Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a fact! It happened! If people can have their MLK day, and Gay Pride day, then let me have my Christmas Day in peace. God bless you all! Thanks for letting me vent on this subject. May you all have the merriest of all Christmas's!

I got on a national radio show this morning and greeted the host with "Merry Christmas!" He was suprised but offered back "a very Merry Christmas to you!".

I told him that I wanted one more chance to say it before it became a hate crime to say the word Christmas at all.

I am saying it whenever the opportunity arises, I wish a Merry Christmas to store clerks, delivery people, whomever.

Lets all make a point of reminding America that this is the Christmas season, not just a winter break!

Great post John! I am not a Christian, but I am always happy when someone says "Merry Christmas!" to me, because it reminds me of my family, which is IMHO, what Christmas is all about. There are far too many people in the world who are too sensitive for their own good, whoever got the PC movement started has a lot to answer for. A spade is a !"#$%&* spade!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours John,

Slapper.

This may be a bit off topic but I've noticed that you can watch dozens upon dozens of commercials and not hear the word Christmas. You hear holiday, season, etc. but hardly ever Christmas. Several really get my goat. Take one Circuit City commercial for example. A guy walks up to the check out counter with all kinds of stuff. The clerk says, and this is almost verbatim, "Someone is gonna get some great stuff for holiday". I mean come on. Read that again. It's so superficial that it chaps my hide. Is this what we've come to in America? Poor, unrealistic, and forced dialog simply for the sake of excluding the word Christmas? I know the answer so never mind.

/End rant.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!

They've got a Christmas Hooters' commercial that has been running here in Denver. I'm sorry, but I find it offensive to associate Jesus Christ with big knockers merchandise.

I don't say Happy Holidays, I like to say Merry Christmas.

Isn't it funny how those who preach tolerance are some of the worst who are intolerant? Here's a some scriptures for those who are Christians and are persecuted:

"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

--John 15:18-19

Here's a Bible link for all who wish to read the Bible online this Christmas season:
