To all of the official bashers out there, time to eat a little crow... Take a look at the following excerpts from NFL reviewing end of Browns-Jaguars game (Click the link to read the entire article).
According to the article, the NFL reached a conclusion today that the "...correct procedures were followed and the correct decision made when replay overturned what had been ruled a fourth-down catch by Cleveland's Quincy Morgan."
BUT, BUT... All the Cleveland fans whine -- you CAN'T challenge a play when another play has been run -- EVERYBODY knows that.
Well, turns out that's not really how it played out. NFL's Director of Officiating Mike Pereira described what happened:
"The Browns were in a no-huddle offense trying to get to the line of scrimmage to snap the ball and stop the clock. Things were moving very quickly. When the pager went off (just before the snap), the referee allowed the play to take place before confirming with the umpire and the replay assistant that he was paged for a review."
Now you can sit here and debate about the rule all you want, but the fact is that the officials got it right AGAIN!

We could have avoided the controversy if the replay official's buzzer was a 30-volt probe stuck up the referee's ass. At least then, if he buzzed the ref, 70,000 fans would all know it happened!

So are you saying that the refs should be able to review a play that happened in the first quarter while the game is actually in the fourth quarter?? When did I say that?

Cleveland must have gone for Gore. Just like the democraps are upset that all their efforts at fraud did not win them the presidency, these sore losers are upset that they did not win on a technicality after what was clearly an incomplete pass.

What is so hard to understand about no play can be reviewed after the ball is snapped again? Not true. A play cannot be reviewed if no review is called for before the snap. I've watched lots of snaps nullified because a coach tossed their red flag onto the field at the last second. This sounds like the replay booth equivalent of that situation. The refs upstairs called for a review just before the ball was snapped, but not in time for the ref on the field to blow the play dead.
Anyway, I hope we're in agreement the Cleveland fans who threw things are utter scum who made their team look far worse than the refs ever could.

ME? i don't cussDamn straight!

If you call that a technicality then they shouldnt even play the game. And I guarantee you that at least 90% of those people at the Cleveland game who threw something on the field and yelled at the referees voted for Bush because they know when something is wrong and they just didnt shrug it off and say 'Oh well' lets go home after spending $60 for this pointless ticket. Those people expect better and wont just sit around until it happens they go out and do until it happens.

Did you even READ the excerpts from the article that I posted? Don't confuse them with the facts. They're fans. They paid for their tickets, and the customer is always right. Or something like that.

How dare you sit there and accuse a bunch of officials of being cheats!!Hear, hear! Let's call them what they are: incompetent, inept, lazy, stupid, nearsighted, slow, dim-witted . . .
Personally, I'd rather be called a cheat.

A fair amount, IIRC...

Glenville Tarblooders vs. Collinwood Railroaders.
Let the mayhem begin! ;-) I went to St. Joseph, which is now Villa Angela St. Joseph.
Yeah, the old Diocese, and I'm not Catholic. But I thank them for their great education, though.
