It's not really a question of their stupidity. They all know that the reason the skyjackers could take over the airplanes with boxcutters was that the traveling American public had been denied the right to keep and bear arms.
Based on their records, we all have to recognize that Kennedy and Schummer are allied with Al Qaeda, and they want to make sure their lil' buddies continue to have total and free access to airplanes without fear of Americans defending themselves.
