President Bush put the blame squarely on Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat yesterday for the difficulties that the administration's first concerted peace initiative has encountered, demanding in unusually blunt language that Arafat immediately crack down on Islamic militant groups. U.S. special envoy Anthony C. Zinni left Jerusalem yesterday for talks in Arab capitals after his three-week effort to enforce a truce between the Israelis and Palestinians was thwarted by surging violence.

If you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it? Is that what you mean. Oh, but wait. History has been obliterated and re-written. But then you maybe missed the part about all the bookplates that were called in and melted to aid in the war against the Nazi's and Japanese. I challenge you to find a book written, regarding the pre-first-or-second-world-war world that was published earlier than the 1950's. (Incidentally, some do still exist but they're rarer than hen's teeth).

I think God has a word or two to say here. My faith is in God and his promised, not to mention the prophecies found in the Bible. I suggest you quickly pick up a copy and spend a few years reading and digesting it. It is the only truely enlighening thing around. Happy Reading!

If the statements of Bush concerning the peaceful nature of Islam was not just issued to placate, then his beliefs contributed to the failure of the current supposed peace iniative. However, I believe the President has more depth than that, and has given Arafat more rope to hang himself. Only a liberal could believe that warm fuzzy fellings and trust would prevent a viper's strike.
