Actually, this is probably true. Gore is probably not smart enough to figure out that Airforce One and the Whitehouse were targets as well. He would probably have missed the entire purpose of the attacks. He probably would have gotten back in time to see the Pentagon hit from his plane.

That's an idiotic statement. The commander-in-chief doesn't take orders from the Secret Service. Bush could have gone anywhere he wanted that afternoon. And Ari has said they had no hard evidence of further threats to the White House after the Pentagon crash.
