Bush' tax cut proposal is a joke, it is insignificant in size.

President Bush got a bigger tax cut through than anyone thought imageable. We have a President (a good one) not a dicator

pardon me, but you're very foolish to believe that and it is very much an insult to my intelligence.

In 1978 the congress was easily 2/3's Democrat. A conservative Republican rookie congressman named Sam Steiger decided we needed a massive capital gains tax cut. He campaigned for it when everyone said he had no chance at all. The Republicans in those days opposed Steiger when he first proposed it as did the Democrats. But lo and behold a lot of Democrats decided to support Steiger's bill, then some Republicans came along and finally supported it. The bill was passed and Jimmy Carter signed it. All the economists said it was a great thing and stimulated the economy very effectively. Today Sam Steiger is on the fringes of the Republican party and is very much disliked by the Republicans precisely because he is a conservative who cares about our country.

In 1981 when Ronald Reagan came into Washington despite opposition from Republican leaders like Jerry Ford who tried very hard to defeat him even after he won in the primaries the Republicans had a much weaker position in congress than they have today. When Reagan introduced his tax cut people laughed about it. But he persisted and he campaigned for it. A solid 40% of the house that voted for Reagan's tax cut were democrats, Dick Gephardt voted for it and in fact complained that it was too small.

So, anyone who believes that we can't pass a tax cut is simply an idiot. We have to have Republican leaders who will support a real tax cut, not a phony Bush tax cut, before we achieve this success. But history proves that you are simply delusional.

Why do you think Dick Armey is leaving congress, journalists are saying that he says privately it is because of George Bush.

Today under Republican leadership the federal gov budget is growing at 4-5 times the rate of the economy. The best the democrats ever did was grow it at 2-3 times the rate of the economy. The Bush people themselves admit that we'll have to cut social security because too much money is being spent now.

Anybody who even looks casually at the situation knows that our nation will be bankrupted by government growth at these rates. A vote for a Republican is a vote for a socialist, that's plain and simple truth.

Can you tell us how Bush's first budget proposal compares in size to Clinton's final budget proposal?

Thanks.
