Is it true that Vegans produce a great deal of gas?

I think the transition to meatlessness is the hardest part of becoming vegan as regards that problem. Having said that, I haven't noticed that she has a problem. Although I believe she would be willing to talk about the digestive aspect of being vegan, (since she is certainly preachy when I get chicken strips and mac and cheese, for instance - I love the Safeway hot bar, sorry) I'm just not that interested.

Is it true that Vegans produce a great deal of gas?

My wife, daughter and I all switched to veggies exclusively a few months ago and I haven't noticed any difference :) Actually, I'm eating very well, and the things my wife is whipping up are, for the most part, better tasting than what we had back in the Days of Meat.

I'm not TOTALLY Vegan - every once in a while I just have to have a Double Whopper With Cheese or somesuch - but for the most part it's veggies only. And we did it because of health - my wife's brother has colon cancer, and whilst doing some web research for him on diets and cancer, we decided to give it a whirl. I have a friend who cured himself of terminal cancer by changing his diet, so I know it works. But we're just gonna beat cancer to the puch and never get it :)
