In open-minded home, 'American Taliban' still source of angst

SAN ANSELMO, Calif. (AP) -- Even in a community where personal growth is prized above all and wealthy ex-hippies groom their children to be independent thinkers, the spiritual journey of John Walker Lindh is a shocker.

Much of the nation seems outraged that a 20-year-old American was captured fighting for the Taliban. Many see him as a traitor deserving of the death penalty, especially after it turned out that he had been carrying an AK-47 and calling himself a holy warrior, even after U.S. troops were on the ground in Afghanistan.

"As a friend and as a person who cares for Suleyman, I hope he can come back to his friends and family. Whether he has done something wrong is not for me to say," Nana said.

Another traitor. As an American, it's for me to say whether you're betraying America, Nana.

An intelligent but introverted teen-ager who wore full-length robes in high school
and asked his family to call him "Suleyman"

The only difference between this fool and the Columbine shooters is their choice of targets.
And, just like the parents in Colorado, these parents were clueless as to what their kid was up to.

Michael Savage coined the phrase "Johnny Jihad." Savage also coined other popular descriptive political words such as "Sheeple."

On the radio show this week he was blasting Johnny Jihad as the "Ratboy."

I think I like Ratboy the best.

"He gave us up, he gave up on his country," said Don Jackson, a butcher at the gourmet
Wild Oats Market
in San Anselmo who thinks Lindh deserves permanent exile.

I can't believe that a Wild Oats Market (part of a health-food store chain,
for you folks in Rio Linda or West Palm Beach) would need a butcher in San Anselmo or
at any of their stores in The Gay...I mean, The Bay Area.

Yes, they do sell meat at their stores here in West LA...but that's not suprising
as the congnesceti of San Francisco thinks we're nothing but Okies down here!
(Well...at least they are right about me...)

But principal Marcie Miller said the highly competitive school remains proud of Lindh as well as its other students, who tend to be highly motivated, self-directed critical thinkers.

Well, good, now that we know he's a highly motivated, self-directed critical thinker, no one's going to buy the brainwashed, misdirected, confused, young-boy-who-just-fell-in-with-the-wrong-crowd-at-the-wrong-time defense, if his high-priced Democratic activist attorney or the PR firm that his parents hired tries that approach. He's a critical thinker, dontcha know.

Read the quote by a fellow American Muslim about Johnny(abdul) it will give you insight into the Korans strict belief that a Muslim cant be critical of a fellow believer and be pure. Her statement to me is a general reflection of Muslim attitudes to 9/11 and johnny (abdul). Personally it makes me sick, thought you might like to read a quote from a fellow believer. Its as if she believes the infidels are responsible for johnny and 9/11. What loyalty to America they have? If there peaceful why not criticize muslims who obviously arent?

A few hours, at the most, after I erected "Vote Republican" signs in various places in Marin, they were taken down, no matter where I placed them. Those who took the signs down were just as persistent as I was. They were determined that "Vote Republican" signs would not be tolerated.

Bless his heart.  The unexamined life
is truly not worth living.  Going to war
against your own country is a manifestation
of thought that is freighted with consequences,
however, as any critical thinker knows.
The obvious outcome of this is for the critical
thinker to beg for execution, as he knew what
he was doing every step of the way, and,
had he won, would be a hero to his cause.
Now he must embrace the downside.

I have no problem with sending him back to his friends and family. It's a matter of what kind of box would be appropriate for a Marin County traitor' s remains. Perhaps in an organic coffee tin.

Apparently poor, misguided Nana has yet to see JIHAD in AMERICA by Steven Emerson. Mosques are not only used as places for political discourse but as fund-raising sites for TERRORISTS! This presentation maybe 5 years old, but still a real eye opener.

Nice to see you again.

I think that at the end of Ratboys life, he's going to see a number of really bright flashes. All of which will be pointed at his chest hopefully.

Whether he has done something wrong is not for me to say," Nana said.

Since you and everyone around him abdicated that responsibility, you can continue your silence if he's executed.

Fairfax, California, home of Johnny Jihad, hosted the first peace protests in the nation and we tried to put a stop to it. Here's what happened:

posted 10.6.01:

"For three days there's been a "Give Peace a Chance" mob perched on the steps of Fairfax, CA's bus stop. They have no permit. Their right to demonstrate was allowed by Les Tremayne, local left-wing extremist and town council member, in conspiracy with the new town manager. No permit, no meeting with other members of the council, no fees, all restrictions waived by oral agreement between the two of them. The police were ordered not to dislodge the demonstrators and the fire department was alerted to wash off the graffiti when they left each night.

"Over nineteen complaints were registered by townsfolk bringing the majority of disgust to 7.

"The police are angry at being expected to do the bidding of the petty despot Tremayne. They agree that the special treatment given the peace mob constitutes conspiracy to break the law which is a felony. They agree that having firemen wash the steps is misappropriation of town funds. They agree that the mob misrepresents Fairfax and that it is exercising its free speech by special fiat of one man in power."

We called all the local TV, radio stations and newspapers. As far as I know, nobody was interested. Fairfax, as a municpality, is controlled by the left who operate it as a private show place. We are a nuclear-free zone. We cannot plant a non-native tree in our own yard. Our Representative is Lynn Woolsey, local welfare mother, who threw a tantrum in Jesse Helms Committee. Is it any surprise that Walker-Lindh cut his hate-America teeth here?
