Whorealdo needs to carry a gun at all times.

...WHORALDO RIVERA = War Coorespondant = NOT
That's my general feeling for now.
If Geraldo doesn't ditch that silly look (Gurhka hat with paisley bandana),
I'll probably laugh even if I see footage of him single-handedly wasting
five attacking Taliban!
But, as a naive civilian and typical open-hearted American, am going to keep an open mind.
Maybe a walk by the wreckage of "Ground Zero" has done a number on some of Geraldo's synapses...
and he might be out to redeem himself from some of the idiocy of his past.
He MAY be one of more than a few fellows who has had a change of heart and brain
post 9-11.
Time will tell...and "truth shall out".

If I was in his position, I'd have about three pieces ready, including an AR-15.

Well, I for one like Geraldo now. He may be a whore but gee whiz, he is OUR WHORE NOW. He is packing heat, bless his heart.
To: Howlin
Are you joking, or are you serious? I think he's doing a great job!
To tell you the truth, I'm being serious. He's doing awesome, even though his reports are a little overly optimistic (he keeps saying 'we've got Bin Laden cornered now, it could be a matter of hours').

I won't go THAT far, but Gerald's reports have been the best from any so-called journalist. Gerald says "WE" and I know he means it.
BUMP for Gerald's excellent and unabashedly PRO-AMERICAN reporting!

Peter Arnett, a former war correspondent for The Associated Press and CNN. Shut up your pie hole, Petah.

I like Geraldo's reports, and the Vietnam comparison isn't exactly correct. Fro what I have seen and read, the Vietnamese army wasn't exactly a roving band of religious extremist terrorists. They respected some of the "rules" of war. Another reason that the VC didn't bother our reporters all that much is that many of our reporters supported the North's propaganda machine. I venture to say that they often had similar missions.

Jesus! Mary! and Joseph! This is why women should NOT be allowed on juries! You have a good point there dude. Previously, when Geraldo worked for NBC his biggest fans were liberal women and liberal effiminate men.
Now that he's doing the "conservative" con job, his biggest fans are conservative women and conservative effiminate men.
They all can have him.

So, which part of "shall not be infringed" do you "100% second-amendment advocate" not understand?
Remember the line from The Patriot "what's the difference between one tyrant that's three thousand miles away and three thousand tyrants a mile away"? Are you one of the three-thousand tyrants? Is your tyrant OK but not mine? How do you know what is a principle? Isn't it 'that which will not be compromised'?
The conspiracy of ignorance masquerades as sommon sense.
To: dhuffman@awod.com
Hey, Geraldo can carry a derringer or a Glock, but he is still a opportunistic lying "puta de madre".
Don't try to deflect the topic please. I have no problems with whatever this lying Dershowitz/Epstein toady chooses to use as a means of self defence.
You are very shallow, if you fall for this shyster's career saving change of venue(NBC told him he wasn't EVER going to get Brokaw's job or even subsitute for him).
Bill Clinton hung on until 2001, because of glib enablers like Whorealdo, who stuck up for him.
And now because Jerry Rivers get's paid to say what is trendy, you idolize him.
LOL!
To: dhuffman@awod.com
Please forgive my radical departure in the thought process:
I have never had much love for Whorealdo - I must admit, though, his special on Al Capone's buried treasure was..."priceless".
Give the guy some credit - he is showing a glimmer of common sense. I know, the same idiot that thought (probably still does) Clintoon was God.
At least the guy has enough common sense to have his own weapon in a combat zone. And the balls to go up front.
No wonder 'little Peter' Arnett is pissed. Him and Bernie sat in the hotel room and gave us a "blow by blow" account of day 1 Bagdad. My, my - how dangerous was that?
Don't like him, but I give credit where credit is due - he is doing his job and doing it smartly. As the saying goes, "When in Rome...pack a gun!!"
As for your statement, Geraldo is not the Maroon here - someone else is. ???

While I think that Afghanistan is the appropriate place for Geraldo because they regularly switch sides there when convenient, I have to admit that this issue elevates him slightly in my opinion. At least he has enough common sense to care about self defense.

You know, I never thought I'd be defending Whorealdo, but here he's absolutely correct. And given that Peter Arnett disagrees with him, he's doubly correct. Me too Bill. I mean there are already 8 dead journalists. Do the Peter Arnetts of this world think the Al Queda or Taliban stopped and said "show me your press credentials" then let them go?? I don't think so.. dead is dead!! x8!!
As a Gun advocate, I think he has a right to defend himself. I know we'd feel the same way. Let me at least defend myself.
So (gosh, can't believe I'm even going to utter these words) Good for Geraldo!!!!
ouch,..that hurt!!!
To: jackbill
Peter Arnett is disgusting vermin.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
Frankly, I've never understood this Holy Journalist concept. I mean, they're just people reporting on events, usually to make money for a company. While I think they should try to remain objective, and be somewhat protected participants during a war, why should they be exempted from the consequences of the great conflicts of our time?
Was any American journalist pulling for Hitler? Did they even report on his rantings as much as modern journalists do the Taliban propaganda? What of the obvious agitprop of the Commies and Muslim world? Should they really be protected? They are most often an arm of hostile, murderous enslaving forces, so why should we view them as anything but enemy combatants?
They are human beings first, and as such, should defend themselves if need be. Also, no member of civilization can be 'neutral' with the forces of barbarism. Stay alive, stay true to what's right, that should be their priority, not pseudo-neutrality.

No, it's not just that he's on FOX. It's that he's done some good reporting. I still think the guy is a lunatic liberal but I refuse to become one of those people who does not acknowledge good work when I see it.
He's showing initative by going out and being on the front lines, he's right there at Tora Bora not far from the cave entrance instead of standing around in Kabul reporting second hand stories, and he seems to have picked a good group to be with.
When he comes back and starts spouting liberal pablum again, I reserve the right to detest him, but while he's doing a good job I have to give him credit for it.
