Good points! I have only asked for letters my father wrote while to my grandmother he was in the hospital in another town for a year when he was about 13, and had thyphoid fever and almost died.... and the letters his brother wrote in WWII to my grandmother. Then the letters grandma received from the US Air Force when Uncle Richard disappeared over France, was MIA, then finally declared dead. I would love to have all those papers. She has already given me some of the old photos. I have photo of Grandma, Daddy, and Uncle Richard framed on the wall. I love it and everyone comments on what wonderful old photos we have. They are our treasures!
I already have my other treasures.... the recipes handwritten by my mother in law who is no longer living. The things I treasure are not of earthly monetary value!
I have a lot of nice jewelry with huge stones and my kids are NOT to let me be buried in them, they are to take them off my fingers!
