Pakistan arrests 23 Arabs suspected of links with bin Laden

Pakistani authorities have arrested 23 Arabs including two children suspected of links to Osama bin Laden.

All of them fled from Afghanistan in recent weeks.

The suspects include three women who are believed to be relatives of bin Laden.

They have been identified as Aamni Ahmad, Hala Ahmad and Nooran Abdu.

The arrests were made in Pakistan's south western Baluchistan province which borders Afghanistan.

Most of the suspects are Yemenis and Saudis, said a spokesman. Pakistan has asked Yemeni authorities to help verify their identities.

Abdullah Al-Hanaki, a senior official at the Yemenis embassy, said it's too early to say whether any of them were related to bin Laden.

"We have also received this information and we are checking it," he said. "We have sent our embassy official to Quetta to examine the matter."

Meanwhile Pakistan is tightening security at its 1,344 miles long border with Afghanistan in an attempt to stop fleeing Islamic militants from entering the country.

Pakistan has also agreed to step up co-operation with the CIA in the hunt for bin Laden.

23 arrests? Doesn't even scratch the surface. You would have to arrest nearly the whole government and especially the army and intelligence services. They put the Taliban in existance and supported them until Uncle Sam got in the act.
