(PipeBombNews.com - 7:33 AM PST) - Just after 7:30 AM Wednesday morning a suicide bomber detonated a high explosive device just outside the David Citadel Hotel on Jerusalem's King David Street, a central thoroughfare in the heart of the ancient city.
Six people have been reported injured but the injuries seem to be relatively minor considering the severity of the blast.
According to police chief, Commander Mikey Levy, it could be that the bomber "blew himself up accidentally" or that he panicked when seeing a police presence outside the hotel.
It is being speculated that the bomber's real target may have been US special envoy Anthony Zini who is staying at the nearby King David Hotel.
The bomb bears the characteristics of similar devices recently used by Hamas and was covered with shrapnel producing pieces of metal and nails.

Well, if the target really is Zinni, then Hamas is either being just plain stupid, or they're trying to set the stage for something bigger and uglier.
I vote for the latter -- Osama's got folks all over, and it's at least possible that he thinks he can use an Israeli war as a basis for a fundamentalist takeover in the Middle East.
We need to step carefully, these days.
Maybe they have made the decision that this is their last best opportunity to cause a generalized Mid East war against Israel.

Since there are thermal imaging devices that allow one to see through walls. It seems quite plausible to me that there would be devices that would enable lookouts to visually frisk folks in the vicinity of an area that was to be secured.
A bomb encased with nails and screws under a jacket would present a very distinctive image.
So . . . when the guy gets in a good location – say for example, out in the middle of the street and away from most other folks, then pop one into the bomb and let nature takes its course.
