You must not be reading the same threads I do then. It seems to me that most everything posted here, wherever it comes from, is torn to shreds.
As for my remarks on "mainstream" ... I just find it hard to believe the press we've excoriated for four years suddently has its head on straight and we should be delighted they've "come around" on a dime to support the GOP. Seems odd.
And there's also my wishing this place were not viewed as a News outlet. I've expressed my concern more than once over FR's turning into a potpourri news source for many. Quite frankly, I think that sort of profile only lends legitimacy to the complaints of the Wash Post and the LA Times.
Particularly when it's just a heads up on a great article from a indy source -- such as WND, JWR or others for example -- I see no reason the whole story is posted is here.
As for the mainstream sources, it's probably best those posting a story limit themselves to quoting in full the more specious or troubling parts.
I guess I can't help being overly sensitive to the frankly surreal image that is having a mainstream article cheered by the forum.
My Mom sent me a copy of Georgie Ann Geyer's article supporting military tribunals. I read this morning Slate's article on the the fact there is no "anti-war" movement and that anyone who does opposed the government's waging "war" is "irrelevant".
I just get a bad feeling about the way the press is giving Hollywood a run for its money where pro-government agit-prop is concerned.
Well neither you nor any of the other "move-on'ers" has "torn to shred" the material I've posted on Ron Brown. Wonder why?
