Why now, why this weekend after all of the repeated atrocities over there, does Sir Hil step out and make this statement? It isn't because she favors it, it's a political calculation to push us into WWIII, disrupt the fragile coalition, force Bush's hand, take our eyes off Afghanistan, move the next target away from Iraq. Take your pick, but the last one is that she has a genuine, humane interest or distinct sense of right and wrong.

"Why now[?]" I believe one of Hitlery's orcs overheard tidbits of W's meeting with Ariel, and upon telling the mistress, she realizes Arafat is toast. Rather than being forever recalled as a lover of the failed (was that dead, or just exiled?) PA-head, despite being that "peace process" Nobel prize winner, as she one day aspired to be, she rightly sees that Yasser has never and will never amount to anything.
Principles mean nothing, the past means nothing, and friendship means nothing (Right, Vince?).
She's no more valuable than scum on a two-inch wide puddle!
