IMO, CL and his type might be better served if we ignored them, for their goal is to divert the subject matter away from you and toward themselves. It's a typical leftist "in your face" tactic pulled on us, when we protest the antiwar crowd. It's a tactic to rile the opposition...they care nothing about facts.

That's a trend the RATs have been using here on FR for quite a while, they last longer as xxxxxLibertarian, or similar.

Eventually they screw up and get exiled.

Other than that I guess it could be a form of envy, since Libertarians never have (or will ever) lost by a close margin. They're 1%ers at best.

Instead, he came here looking for an argument and figures that by engaging in anally retentive circle dancing cloaked under the guise of innocent inquiry, he may yet draw some attention to himself.

Sometimes it takes a little while to figure this out, for we want to be polite. You're much too nice and decent, IMO. But then, most Bushies are nice people, just like Presient Bush.:-)

Momma always said, "If you don't know, ask and you might learn". Of course, Momma never met you.

Your questions seem more agumentative than seeking answers.

Also, you obviously don't know anything about Houston politics, Brown, or Jew Don Boney because you would realize how ridiculous your questions seem to those of us who are all too familiar with all of them!

Peace, I even question whether they are Libertarians. IMO, this particular guy seems to be a leftist disguised as a Libertarian. Most Libertarians are much more idealistic or practical than this dumb dude. He's better known as a trouble maker disruptor, IMO.

Those aren't even questions that CL is asking. Sounds to me like he went to a left wing university and got indoctrinated pretty well. Do they have a failed Psychology program at UC Bezerkley? Did CL go to UCB?

True, but most true Libertarians or libertarians don't use Libertarian in their screen name.

If you want to frustrate a XXXLibertarian to the Nth degree, don't answer his post at all. The result is the same, but you don't have to get in the mud with them.

What the Republican Party needs to learn is that until we draw the line in the sand and put an end to voter fraud, we will continue to lose elections that rightfully should have been won.
The only thing that matters is who counts the votes. Socialists commit election fraud as a rule, and in areas where these type of vermin are working the polling places, they stuff ballot boxes. In my locale, they have a list of registered voters, crossing it off as the voters show up. After the polls close and before the numbers are submitted, they fill out as many ballots as possible, given the number of names not yet crossed off their lists. The best way for the rest of us to frustrate this is to vote, to form watch groups that demand to observe the process all day long until the numbers are submitted, and it would help if more non-leftists would take election day off of work to volunteer to work the polls. Keep your eye on the cookie jar.

Blacks are like the Irish. They think that having been an oppressed minority for so long that they now have the moral right to cheat. Kind of affirmative action in voting.

I don't have any facts, but my friend claims that Lanier and Brown (through companies and friends) both own property that would be greatly financially benefited if the rail were to go through

Figured there was something fishy about pushing this light rail through when it was voted down. The scumbag Democrats that support each other keep living up to their name- by continuing to live and leach off the taxpayers, line their pockets, raise their taxes - and care very little about doing the right thing for society of which they are the guardians. How very sad.

Some of the suburban precincts have drives in excess of 40 miles.

FORTY miles? That's something I'd definitely petition to change. In at least a couple of elections I know it would have made a difference to me. Had I been confronted with a 40 mile drive after a long, tiring day at work I would have been sorely tempted to just go straight home.

Approximately how much area does Houston cover? I'm picturing a huge city in terms of square mileage, much like Jacksonville, Florida, where I was stationed during the 80s. The county lines of Duval and the city of Jacksonville were one and the same. Biggest city in the US, if I'm not mistaken. In some of the rural areas of such a city I can see making a long drive, but not in the more populous suburbs. That really should be fixed.

"Attention GOP: IN ORDER TO WIN, YOU MUST GO FOR THE THROAT AND TALK ABOUT ELECTION FRAUD INCESSANTLY!"
NO, the way to combat it is to watch AND work the polls. Period. WATCH THAT BALLOT BOX, AND THOSE WORKING IT.

Houston is VERY spread out as a city. That is why rail lines won't work here. On the east side of town, the city limits reach the upper north end of harris county and into montgomery county. The southernmost parts reach past clear lake in the east, and into fort bend county in the west.

If you aren't familiar with harris county, it is large compared to many urban counties.

Another way of putting it, Houston has 3 completed loop roads around the city, plus parts of a fourth, plus two interstates encircling downtown. I-10 and 45 encircle downtown. Loop 610 is the next one out, a few miles away. Beltway 8 is beyond that. FM 1960/State Highway 6 is beyond it. The next one under construction is the Grand Parkway, which goes way off outside of Harris County.

Not 40 miles to vote, but for the precinct to turn in its ballots.

Dammit, the GOP has no one to blame but themselves in the scandalous disgrace of vote fraud.

My favorite Whipping-Boy? That damned Clymer Ridge, who let the Demos steal Pennsylvania from Bush with HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of bum votes. More GD ballots were tallied in parts of Philly than the number of of men, women, children, and domestic pets in the precincts!

To top it off some GD Philly judge ORDERED the registration of 100,000 Russian residents who are years from citizenship. Solid Republican rural districts carried by illegal Mexican farm-worker voters, etc etc.

Jesus wept. Ridge slept. Not ONE suit filed! Sanchez, eh? Another GOP sin cojones ... unless he fights.

If not, he is just the latest Trent Lottian example of the total country-club-ization of the GOP. Hard to believe it is the party that once rallied the nation to Preserve the Union and Free the Slaves.

I was a pollwatcher yesterday, volunteering for the Sanchez Campaign. We had only 40+ volunteers for pollwatching. We needed a lot more, and two at some polling locations would have been preferable. I have been told by other pollwatchers that they have many incident reports which will be turned in on Monday to the Sanchez legal people.

I was at a poll at an elementary school from 6:20AM till the Pct. Judge left at 9:03PM. There was no fraud at this precinct (visible to me). The judge followed the law. I have no idea what he would have done had there been no pollwatcher present. He seemed like an honest man but he is an experienced demorat operative. He spent all day, (mostly on the telephone to Co. Clerk's office), assisting voters who were in the wrong precinct, were not on the poll list, had many name discrepancies or thought/said that they had/were registered to vote. He made every effort possible to get them to cast their vote as he was helping the speech challenged mayor's re-election effort and he knew damn well who these folks were going to vote for.

This is a 99% black precinct. I saw 6 non-black people all day. A pollwatcher from the Secretary of State's office also came by for about 2 hours. Approx. 60 people were turned away, (2 were felons). another 20+ were directed to the correct precinct. Some of these people thought that they could vote at any polling place, (or perhaps, they were trying to vote again). IMHO there are many inaccuracies in the records of registered voters. One man pointed out that his grandmother, deceased in 1982 was still on the poll list. He also said that someone had signed her in as voted in 11/2000 when he came to vote and saw her name. I know that Paul Bettencourt has been trying to clean up the reg. voter rolls but the demorats have not been helpfull and have taken cheating to very sofisticated levels. The motor-voter and other lax voter registration processes invite dishonesty and cheating, and the demorats have taken full advantage of this.

I kept a count of the ballots and it concurred with the Pct. Judge's 364 ballots. 62 people voted early. Only one tried to vote again. She stated that she did not vote early but was rejected. This precinct got 50+% turnout.

We lost by 4383 votes and 313,632 people voted to determine our mayor. This turnout was 31.53%. Where the hell are the others? The blacks (25% of Houston) the stupid whites who voted for Doofuss, and the hispanics who do not register/vote have chosen our mayor.

Now Doofuss brown will further the agenda of his puppet masters and run us further into debt. "but we wont raise your taxes & fees". But... we will have our toy train, all the ballparks for the wealthy team owners and a downtown convention hotel which no hotel chains would invest in!

Time to move out of this city/county before the interset payments on the new 1.3B of bonds start to come due.

Anyone want to buy my house in the museum district? I'm out of here!
