Did the doctor suggest roseola? That's similar to Fifth Disease, but the rash is more like little red spots. It's not usually a serious disease.

Absolutely not. The rash was not typical of Roseola, either. It was raised lesions, not flat dots. An Enterovirus seems a likely culprit.

My son had roseola and it had the same symptoms as the kids at that school. At first we thought he had the measles! He is a toddler in day care part time and the other kids also had it. Also, if I had read what Vanrox has posted while my son was in the midst of roseola, I would have been hysterical! Geez! I'll bet this school has some sort of roseola or similar virus (roseola is related to herpes). I pray it is nothing more.
