There's no way this is smallpox. Smallpox rash doesn't "come and go" like this seems to be doing. And the rash appears on the oral mucosa, not just on the skin.

"...Early in the illness there may appear in about 10% of patients a fleeting rash in the form of a reddening of the skin, not unlike the rash of German Measles..." This is the so-called prodromal rash and, in the absence of a history of exposure to a source of infection, there is nothing about htis rash to arouse suspicion of smallpox....But...

12 days later the REAL smallpox rash appears...

This Mysterious Rash has not gone away There are people all across U.S.A and Canada that have this. Doctors and Vets do not have a clue as to what this is.
http://www.ktvu.com/video/2888865/detail.html# The rash/red bumps/lesions come and go, but never gone itching, burning crawling sensations joint and muscle pain, fatigue, chills sweats, reddish tint to skin like light sunburn. We need Public Awareness & RESEARCH to find a cure. we don't know exactly what this is (bacterial fungal viral) we just don't know yet. but this seems to be spreading skin to skin contact to both people to people and pets to people. I have been suffering with this since Oct 2001, and it is spreading in family and friends.
God Bless You All
