Sounds more like ENVY to me.

It looks like there is a WHOLE LOT of ENVY in this thread. As long as they can keep the preacher at a level below where they are then it's OK for him to do the work of the Lord. But if he makes One Dollar more than they do then he is guilty of something, most likely guilty of being a success. Church Governing Boards are full of them, and they wonder why they get what we got.

????Them or me? I assure you I do not envy anyone getting rich off of donations from little old ladies. That's not earning money by the way I define it. That's deception because when they ask for money they imply it is NEEDED. If they receive more than they need it should be returned to the donors. (same concept as taxes, thank you)I could live with them making an excellent salary---but nothing near the amount it would take to sustain a 5 mil house.

If, on the other hand, they made their millions by a means other than ministry, then I take back what I said. I would be wrong, though it still looks bad.
