I published this a while back, but it was deleted.
So....
What is the fastest you have ever drive? I had my little Honda over 100 mph near the PA-WV border.
I do not condone speeding, and I am sure FR does nor either.

I topped out at about 120 miles an hour going on Spring Break to Padre in the early 90's. I thought the car (Grande Prix, I believe) was going to disintegrate.

Wow! They chased you for twelve miles at 126 mph?! Were you arrested?

I was going south on I-35, south of Dallas and Waco on the way to Brownsville.

I suppose I could get a CA license, but I am happily retired from driving. I think the CA computers at the DMV purge the offenses after 7 years. Too bad Y2K was a flop. Would have been nice to have EVERTHING, moving violations, parking tickets, firearm records, income tax, credit card bills, etc wiped clean. ;)

I don't know...speedos only go so high, and I have buried many.
I think the fastest was in a big truck. Tracktor trailer type. Speedo went to 110, I buried it and still had 400rpm to increase. Big old Peterbuilt rolled. I do not like doing it to often because the tires are not made for that kind of speed, and the only reason I did it then was because the treads were new.
Other than that, I think I was close in a Nissan 3000 GT.

No, he chased me, but hardly at 126 mph. He "said" he clocked me at 126 as I sailed by him! I have always doubted that I attained a speed of 126 --- but I've always accepted his version of the events! I was not about to argue.

Many years ago when I was young and stupid (I'm no longer young) my older brother bought a Mazda mx3, I think it was, back when they still used the Wankle. After spending more time than I should have at a local establishment, when I got home brother asked if I wanted to test-drive his new little car. Out on the interstate I stepped on it. Though it took awhile to get there we were eventually going 125MPH, and still climbing. I started wondering about what kind of tires were on that car and how long I'd be locked away if we got stopped, and let off, but that was a memorable ride, for me.

I don't know...speedos only go so high, and I have buried many.I had a 1977 Chevy Monza with the "Spider" package they offered with the small block V-8. The speedo only went to 85. The "55" was highlighted in red. Imagine. I brought the needle back around to zero once, going about 120 MPH. By the clock I did two miles in one minute.
For me, our "long national nightmare" was when the national speed limit was 55 MPH.

Mercy! 209 m.ph. is not a speed record for the autobahn?! I didn't know that there was any street legal car in existence that could reach that speed.
To: Hacksaw
150mph on my Yamaha FJ1100 at redline.
I've been faster on my ZX11 but too afraid to look at the speedo, a minimum of 120 plus uphill!

In a VW Passat in Germany. I had American specs on the car so the governor kicked in at 132 mph. This was on the autobahn between Mainz and Kaiserslautern
There was no speed limit on the stretch I was on.
