Volume aside, unless I'm mistaken they did Love Hurts, which is downright romantic.

Or was that The Death of Little Nell?

You're thinking of Nazareth, who weren't quite as loud or as atonal (atonality qua atonality is not necessarily evil incarnate - it has its place in music of various kinds - but for a heavy mental band it makes fingernails on the chalkboard resemble Rachmaninoff) as Uriah Heep. Not to mention, at least Nazareth's lead singer could sing, as opposed to a mere screech...
