"Anyhoo, regarding sticking around Free Republic: Would you?"

I'll admit that I was shocked when you were banned since I'd never seen you violate any of the forum rules. Granted, I don't read everything that's posted here, but based on the vast number of your posts that I had read, I'd never seen you be anything but a gentleman. BTW, I thought that a remarkable feat considering all the abuse that was daily thrown your way.

Half an apology is as good as it gets sometimes, so I'd probably stay if I were you. A lot of people appreciate your posts and FR hasn't been nearly as interesting without you. And nobody, I repeat nobody, can handle the "welcome wagon" crew as well as you can.

Thank you for your kindness, Artist. I'm thinking about sticking around but kinda doubt it. Especially since I'll probably be banned soon anyways. I'm thankful for the opportunity to come here and defend myself concerning Jim's posts about my banishment. That needed to be set straight. I'm not "caustic" and I wasn't banned for "insulting other posters after repeated warnings and suspensions".

That was crapola, as was about half of the "half apology". But I was able to post a rebuttal to that too, though I haven't been regaled with a reply.

For the chance to rebut all of this, I am thankful. Concerning the financial aspects of Free Republic, that's never been my thing. I don't really follow that "wing" of anti-freeping too much. I'm more concerned with the censorship and heavy-handed treatment of some of the memebers.

Kindest regards,
Callahan
