I have been on FR for a long time. I am quite a conservative, and I hold a lot of unpopular views. The only time I was ever admonished (fairly recently)I deserved it for being childish. I simply don't beleive your accusations. As for the financial bit, sure if it were true that they were wasting money, I would not like it. However, my $50 bucks per quarter, which will be $100 this time, still comes out to like .001 cents per minute that I spend here. It's not like anyone is getting ripped off in that sense.

Inspector, I think that you have a fine anti-governemnt attitude. Why not just come by and FReep every day like we all do? Post stories, comment on others, etc. Why the need to discuss the inner workings of FR all the time? There are very few people in this world with the leadership, vision, or commitment who would have kept this site up and running all of this time. Cut them some slack.

As I regarded them to be a brilliant (and funny) parody of your foul posting personality, I was inclined not to delete them. JenLart, however, was so personally hurt by the fake Howlin's attacks against her, that she insisted that they be deleted despite the fact that the attacks themselves constituted an hilarious send-up of Guild-think. In the end, later that day I acceded to JenLarts wishes and deleted them.

Jim, thank you for the jewel that is FreeRepublic. I cannot express how important and enjoyable your website has been to me. I have met and conversed with, IMHO, some of the most brilliant, sincere, talented, honest people I have ever met.

The writing and research skills shown by Patent, CheneyChick, AgThorn, ClassyGreenEyedBlond, Aske15, JH2, AlamoGirl, to name only a few, are inspiring. The computing/graphic skills displayed by Billie are a treasure to all.

Jim, although I've been a subscriber for less than a year, the value of FreeRepublic in my life is easily explained. I can no longer watch Fox News/OReilly/Hannity and Combs etc. when they include interviews with known traitors, liars and speakers of half truths. My wife is glued to these broadcasts and briefs me on the content. In every, and I mean every case, I mention that I read and discussed that issue two days ago on FR. You have the most timely news source available and I would truly miss your site and especially it's members, should drastic measures be necessary.

Finally (sorry to use so much bandwith) I view the problem as extremely simple.....financial. Due to the popularity of your website, you have outgrown your room in the basement and must, by necessity, seek more space/staff/equipment/financial support for increased overhead etc. IMHO, the solution is also extremely simple.....increased voluntary funding by those of us who enjoy and depend upon the news and views expressed so eloquently on your site.

I will send you a check today and I encourage all subscribers to do the same.

Note to your detractors, "Not only is my donation voluntary, but if circumstances necessitate closure of FreeRepublic, I want Jim Robinson to consider it a personal Christmas gift to him.

Jim: I joined the Free Republic some time in '97.... it has had such an influence in my life..Since our marches on Washington in Oct.98,which I attended with a broken arm, to Rallies in Jan.'99 on the Capitol steps, I've became active in the Republicans party and I'm now the Chairman of the Party in my State's 3rd largest county....The Free Republic and it's members gave me the Hope, Desire and Will to become outspoken about my beliefs and to carry the torch to light the way for others.... This site is the keystone to the grassroot conservative movement in this country... and we are a majority...the other outlets just lied to us and all Americans...Let the Free Republic continue to go forward and bring others to our banners.

Jim... I am less trusting of government and Bush, although I voted for him. I see lots of problems especially in government corruption. I think more posts discussing this should be allowed.

This organization is unique and purposeful and a great way to connect with like minded and unlike-minded people. I enjoy the many intelligent posters and the stupid ones as well, but Mojo unbanned? Ugh, with a capital Ugh.

I'd also suggest an online FR store, selling FR t-shirts or polo shirts, FR baseball caps, FR coffee mugs, etc. People would buy that stuff, you would make money, and the site would continue to be promoted.
