I can understand that they may not want to resume routine vaccinations. But I sincerely hope they won't squirrel all this stuff away in a vault somewhere where nobody can get at it.

I understand the risk, which is astronomically small, and, like most Freepers on an earlier thread concerning the smallpox risk, I still want to vaccinate myself and my family.

As that other thread pointed out, that not only makes sense for the people who freely choose vaccination for themselves, it would also cut down on the spread of the disease if part of the population were already immune. Epidemics are always most destructive and fast-spreading when the whole population is vulnerable, and less severe the more people are already immune.

Everything in your post makes enormously good sense except the following

"I understand the risk, which is astronomically small."

The US and Europe are incredibly vulnerable to the smallpox threat. It is "unthinkable" that the jihadist "crazies" would fail to exploit this vulnerability. The stupid bastards in charge of national health (including the aids commandos at CDC) should have anticipated this threat years ago and began innoculations then. I hope we have time to implemnt immunization at least of the young people and the military. I'm sure the queers at CDC have already been innoculated.
