This is off the subject a bit but It could be a trend in the rest of the country. Here in Kalifornia you may know they do not keep score in kids soccer as there can be no losers. Half way into this past season the league told my daughter and husband not to cheer for their son or his friend because some of the other kids didn't have any one here to cheer for them!

My first child was in a YMCA basketball league at 6 which had the same "fairness" doctrine. The funny thing is, the kids all know the score and who is winning. It's the adults who are stupid.

Why bother to even have goals then if nothing counts? While we're at it, let's eliminate the boundaries of the field completely -- inhibits the children's instincts to explore, you know. Yes, just let them wander aimlessly around kicking any inanimate object they see and declare it a wonderful achievment!!
I lived near LA for five years and really do love many things about life out there, but that beautiful weather really does infect the brain cells of way too many people.
