Hey, at least I didn't copy her on my reply. You two seem to have enough going on without me starting fires. I just like to mix it up a little bit. I know you agree with me though, whether you are full of Jagermeister or not.

"My response, to which you replied, was very narrowly focused. Orion had consistently referred those who posted that they believed the love of money is the root of all evil to post #9. Post 9 contains a short passage which, allegedly, attempts to refute the biblical notion (I think that was the intent. Orion never made that clear).

So, my post was aimed ONLY at post 9 and Orion's constant effort to get everyone who quoted the biblical text to read it--as if that short passage were going to cause some epiphany and would change their mind.

Incorrect, the reason I posted #9 was to show that Ayn Rand is aware that the correct biblical phrase is "The love of money is the root of all evil", because I was sick of people flaming me telling me that her arguement was completely invalid because she couldn't even get the phrase right. I thought I had made my purpose clear,(though I guess not clear enough) in Post #41.

I'm not sure what is so hilarious. You do realize that the title is the first quote from the speech as it is written in the book?

No, he doesnt, or he wouldn't find it funny. I dont think he has posted anything on this thread that wasn't an insult, so somehow I'm not surprised.

Is Rand still in her grave?

Ouch, pretty rotten thing to say. I would almost say that Forum Posting is the root of all evil LOL.

Undoubtably, there are those Freepers who would call Jesus a "commie" for uttering this statement.

Only if they cherry-pick Scripture like you do.

They like to take everything out of context........

pot.....

kettle.....

black.

(BTW, for those interested in the actual context for the Scripture passages posted, it is in LUKE, chapter 18)

You seem to have your arguement picked out already.........why don't you present it?

Actually, "TomB", it's Matthew 19:24, as well as Mark 10:25, as well as Luke 18:25............want to hazard a guess as to why it appears thrice?

..or did you find yourself flipping through Scripture, came upon something, and after vigorously patting yourself on the back, said to yourself, "Here it is......I'll nail those lousy Christians with this'.........

Oh, you think so, do you Tom?

Following your tortured "logic", anyone who has a lot of money is damned to Hell.

Anyone who has bothered to actually read the Bible knows this is nonsense.

Actually, "TomB", it's Matthew 19:24, as well as Mark 10:25, as well as Luke 18:25

I am directly referring to the unattributed verses you posted in post #180. If you feel it was so important it was repeated "thrice", perhaps you should have pointed it out in the first place.

(you really need to take your time and get your thoughts together before you break the "post reply" button.)

Tommy?

How can you be condescending when you've been so thoroughly embarrassed on this thread?

Look Sparky, you've shown rather well that you are unable to read an article (after all this time you finally DO realize the title is taken directly from the passage in the book, don't you?), you can't properly quote scripture, and you can't even respond directly to a post. By my count you have swung and missed "thrice".

No, Tommy, the title is in error, something that your pals have admitted all through this thread.

Go back to sleep. We'll nudge you if we need some coffeee or something like that.
