The sad, pathetic truth about the situation in place for the 9/11 airplane attacks is that there was no weakness in the screening system!, carpet cutters weren't considered so terrible pre 9/11. The real weakness: the FAA and Federal law preventing Airlines from providing their own security measures (armed response, for example), to a group of passengers motivated to take-over. How, exactly, does Federalizing screeners correct any of the presumed problem??? </vent>
