Too bad some people care about the freedom of suspected terrorists more than the freedom of those innocent Americans who may die in a future Al Qaeda attack.

I agree. Under the circumstances, laws like these are necessary. We're being attacked from within.
BUT.....I think there should be a time limit on these laws. There isn't, yet. Without a time limit, the future could be grimm.

Thanks for your comment hillary.

You apparently don't realize that in our Nation there is no
difference between someone "suspected" and someone
"assumed innocent until proven guilty".

Our freedoms, and rights to due process must be maintained for
all, lest they are maintained for none.

Are you serious, Ariel? Think about what you're typing for a second:

"The freedom" of "suspects"

Suspects can be temporarily detained before trial if they pose a danger or flight risk, but suspects must be tried and convicted in a fair forum before they become "criminals" that forfeit their freedoms to permanent incarceration.

I don't give a wit for his politics, but you might read Natan Sharansky's account of being locked up in Soviet jails for years for publicly practicing religion, and hence being subversive to the state ("Fear No Evil"). The Soviets never gave him a trial, and tried for years to force a confession out of him.

Is this what we want? I'd prefer to choke the bastards with freedom. Let some raghead hijack a plane today...he'll get the Let's Roll treatment right away. That's what America is about, not cowering behind the DOJ.
