Thanks for letting me know (report #305.)
To: Victoria Delsoul
Always my pleasure :).

Split the difference? You bet! :-D

Don't let mountaingirl go all modest on you. She led me around by the hand and literally held me up sometimes while we were searching for silk. It wouldn't have gotten off the ground without her help!
To: patriciaruth; Torie
No problem, you have done a heckuva lot of work here.

Did you get enough messages? For this box we did, but I found out from an officer at Fort Campbell, KY, home of the 101st Airborne, that "Right now, all the guys deployed over there cannot call or use e-mail...it's a standard thing we do when things get hot so that no one can pass on information unknowingly..."
So, I'm going to do another printing Sunday and collect some more messages to go out Monday...just messages and cards I'll get from the local citizenry here, plus any extra FReeper messages anyone wants to send.
To: jwalsh07
I'll pick up Patricia's half of the difference. Let me know what it is, and where to send it. Cheers.

They're going to have to wait until Christmas to open them up?! The commander in the field will probably not be receiving this shipment for about 2-3 weeks, and will be giving them to soldiers pulling duty on Christmas. So, that is when they will get them....when they may need them the most.:-)
To: Snow Bunny
Cute Christmas tree!! And your four letters were fabulous!
To: patriciaruth; Torie
Torie,
I didn't mean for you to do that, just 15 bucks would have been good. :-} All that I can say is you are a good man.
Did you see Tories post Patricia? We got you covered! You let me know what you're out of pocket and my west coast neocon friend and I will make you whole!
To: Torie; jwalsh07
WOW!! I'll have to do the accounting this weekend and post it. But I won't know what your halves are, Jwalsh07 and Torie, until I see how the pledges come in this week. There are several people who were vague in their pledges about exactly how much they were going to send, so I counted "a few" as 2, and "I'll send you something" as 1.

Please let me know if you sent a Christmas message for the troops under your real name so I couldn't match it with your FReeper name.
And if you haven't yet, could you email me one by Sunday. I'm going to do a separate printing to go out Monday as the troops haven't been allowed to use phones or emails since the balloon went up.
MadEagle, I remember you have done care packages and know your name. This is a special request for an email Christmas message for a soldier in the field.
To: patriciaruth
I've been totally swamped, but thanks for the ping. I will definitely get my bum in gear and help on this excellent project!
BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To: SAMWolf
Ping for you, in case you're interested in the follow-up information above.
To: patriciaruth
You are wonderful! To imagine that all that work that was done to make a marvelous Christmas package and I got my name in it and became a part of it by merely writing an email...I'm humbled. Thanks for letting us get in on it. You and all those who worked on this will have the Best Christmas of your life!
To: mlibertarianj
ping. See above, last of the 200's posts as well, for updates so far.
To: patriciaruth
and will be giving them to soldiers pulling duty on Christmas. So, that is when they will get them....when they may need them the most.:-)I wish I could be a mouse in the corner when they get them. Imagine, being in a strange country, away from those who love you, and suddenly being given a gift from people you don't even know and realizing just how much the American people care about you.
