The chick on the left is an egg-layer. The chick on the right is a meat chick or broiler, specially bred to grow much faster. After only four days the meat chick may already be developing bone and leg problems. By three weeks...

"Yeah but how does it taste?"The best chicken I ever tasted was when I was cowboying on a ranch in central Nevada and the owners showed up one day with about 80 Cornish-cross chicks. We raised those little guys and butchered them and they went in the freezer clean weighing about 4.5 lbs...I still remember those chickens as the best I've ever eaten.

Man, isn't modern farming great! That "meat" chicken is easily twice the size of the "egg-layer". Imagine what we will have if we can get the genetic luddites of our backs and breath new life agricultural advancement.
