They seemed to have a stronger constitution back then. Maybe the weak died off. I remember my granddad as an old man sitting in a rocking chair in the late 60's. Then just last year some film was discovered from the 40's. Wow. He was out in a field with his shirt off, muscles bulging, taming a horse. A powerful guy. Despite the shots, beer and raw eggs. Or maybe because of them.

I've lived in different areas of the country, but always on or near army posts. Pennsylvania, California, Texas, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Kansas...I liked em all, good folks no matter where we lived. I think quality of life must have more to do with urban vs country, than it does north vs south.
