It's horrible that the government mandates this! They don't? Oh. It's horrible that I am forced to rent a car from this company! I'm not? Oh. It's horrible that this company would establish a contractual requirement without consulting my opinion first! Yeah, that's it!

Not a bad idea. how would they know. The one time I've seen thumbprints being asked for (at my bank), they've used some type of "clear ink" that has to be treated with something before it's visible. (It says this right on the card)
What if you "glued over" your thumbprint with a thin layer of glue??? How would they know?

I don't know if it will. Apparently signatures don't help much. There are a lot of rental cars stolen where I live and I'm not sure a thumb print would help at all. Maybe if they try to steal the next when their thumbprint is in the databases. I'll just drive my own car and I'm not using airports now because I'm not going through all the other stuff they're doing to people.

Killer pollen! It's already invented. Cross polinate with other crops and it makes the invaded crops sterile. The technology is here. This is not tin foil stuff.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Did you see the story about the Madison City Council's vote on the bombing in Afghanistan? The kooks are at it again.

its all foretold in revelation, the "mark" etc. Marsh Supermarkets here in Indiananoplace have been requiring thumbprints to cash checks for a couple of years....the slow steady march to the beast....

I can understand the need, and yes, people who have nothing to hide usually don't mind.

Chances are real good that you will hear the sound of the oven door closing behind you before you realize the mistake in judgment you have made.

Good article. "Customer acceptance is one challenge, and cost is the other challenge. As soon as we overcome those.” Will the govt. be far behind this trend? Hell no! Gives new meaning to 'public private partnerships'. The private companies test out on and soften up the public for what the govt. wants to eventually do.

Gawd, I'm sick of people saying that.

Would you allow the cops to pull you over and search you car without a warrant or specific reason?

Would you allow social services to examine or question your children without your knowledge?

Would you allow a search of your home without a warrant?

Would you allow the IRS to browse through your financial papers?

How abour giving up DNA samples without a warrant?

Remember:"people who have nothing to hide usually don't mind."

Right. And some partnership it will be...The "Private" part will be a silent partner, with Govmint calling the shots...

No Thumbprint, No Rental Car

Well, it looks like Mrs Condidit won't be visiting Gary in Washington, DC any more. Pity.

I got thumbprinted when I wrote the Law School Admission Test...apparently as a way to determine that somebody else wasn't writing the test for me! I don't know if thumbprinting is done for other professional school aptitude tests. Maybe just giving serious consideration to law school is grounds for suspicion.

First Union bank in Connecticut demands a fingerprint to cash a check if you do not have an account with them.

The Dollar pilot program has been rolled out in the following airports: Philadelphia International, Ronald Reagan Washington National, Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport, Chicago Midway, Detroit Metro, Baltimore/Washington International, Dallas Love Field, William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, San Diego International, Los Angeles International, San Francisco International, Denver International and Oakland International.

Here are the location where the thumbprints are required for rentals.

Let's appeal to Dollar's pocketbook. Call up your Dollar and ask them if thumbprints are required for rentals. Ask them if Budget or National require prints. Tell Dollar you are going to rent with their competitior because of the thumbprint issue. Them them you will do so even if their competitor charges a higher price.

I did LAX and San Diego.

LOS ANGELES - LAX
310-645-9333

SAN FRANCISCO - SFO
650-244-4130

SAN DIEGO - SAN
619-234-3388

Find more Dollar locations here
