Here's the requisite Thanksgiving PETA story. You know, some of my fondest memories are sitting at the table at Mom's house as a child, having a nice steaming bowl of Tofurky. /sarcasm off

I thought the lettuce bikinis sounded interesting, though. I'm such a chauvinist pig.

PETA Sends First Family Faux Turkey Feast

"Washington — With Vice President Dick Cheney cutting back on cholesterol and "first niece" Lauren Bush touting the benefits of her vegetarian diet, PETA has high hopes that vegetarianism will take root in the White House and has delivered a delicious Tofurky to President Bush, complete with all the trimmings."

Is it true that turkeys are so stupid, that if they're caught outside in a downpour, they will look up and drown ??

P.S. -- that Tofurkey stuff sounds REALLY nasty

Sorry to disappoint you. Who knew vegetarians were so ugly?

Name: Poorva

From: Philadelphia

Turn-ons: Seinfeld reruns, hip-hop, raves, hot sauce, Mexican food, her mom's Indian food, backpacking, the beach, dancing, rats, chickens, raspberry soy lattes, the Cartoon Network, shoes with really big soles, wine, talk shows, garlic, and olive oil.

Turn-offs: People who don't spay or neuter their animals, men who think neutering their dog will make them less of a man, racism, speciesism, raw tomatoes, and tequila.

My family Thanksgiving day tradition is Duck hunting in the morning, a big turkey dinner in the afternoon and football the rest of the day. I think PETA is not being very sensitive to my cultural backgound.

This Tofurkey stuff and all this crapola from PETA reminds me of a short story I wrote, called The Corps. In it, the political left has taken over the world. Cars are illegal. Eating meat is illegal, and accidentally running over a woodchuck with your horse and wagon will, at best, get you a stiff fine. In the story, they did creative things with tofu, too. Scary.

IMHO, "Tofurkey" makes me think of the sound we make after eating too many bean products.

If God didn't want us to eat turkeys, why did He make them out of meat?

Hey, I didn't work my way to the top of the food chain so that I could eat Tofurkey!

What? No barf alert? Any article with "PETA" in it is a super-duper-triple-duty-Hefty-bag barf alert for me...

You guys are all very insensitive! I for one, will be heeding Peta's call this season. I will not eat a turkey. We are having goose-liver pate and veal. (after we go pheasant hunting)

I'll set an extra place at the table for the poor Turkey this Thanksgiving--right next to my dog.

PETA Calls for 'Compassionate' Thanksgiving

My version of a 'Compassionate' Thanksgiving is not slamming a PETA member's head into a concrete sidewalk.

Often, lengthwise, and repeatedly.
