No but many of them were heavy drinkers of liquor. Hard Apple Cider was practically a staple drink back then which many of them, including Samuel Adams, regularly drank for breakfast. Another big drink was corn liquor which the farmers found profitable to make. (Ever hear of the Whiskey Rebellion?)
