<< Has anyone noticed that the Liberal influence has spread here into Free Republic. I notice that less and less Conservatives seem to post here, and more and more Libertarians seem to be. >> Liberals and libertarians are not the same. Some libertarians call themselves "classical liberals," but this is very different from the modern definition of liberal. I'd estimate that the average libertarian is approximately 75% "conservative" 25% "liberal." Of course, if you happen to be a hardcore Christian who thinks issues like abortion are very important, you won't like libertarians any better than liberals. You might also object to our (may as well admit I'm one of `em) anti-interventionist views, but that is also shared by many on the far right, another significant minority on FreeRepublic.

Actually, libertarians are 100% Constitutional. Since conservatives tend to be more in line with the Constitution than liberals, libertarians do agree with conservatives on many things. Where conservatives depart from the Constitution, libertarians disagree with them, and get called "liberal."
