When these folks declared war on us they opened themselves up to becoming war criminals and being treated as such. I don't think the relatives of the 9-11 victims should have to endure Johnny Cochran and his ilk playing their courtroom games. Then the appeals for 20 years, then the prison interviews with Connie Chung, and Gore Vidal writing fawning articles about them a la McVeigh.

Absolutely correct. The original sentencing date for the embassy bombers was September 12. The courthouse was just a few blocks from the World Trade Center. Al Qaeda was trying to send a message to the court and jury and intimidate them!
