I;m a fundamentalist....

you know how many times my email box has seen that Onion article? Well meaning friends have forwarded it to me dozens of times.

I usually explained to them that it was a hoax. Some believed me, some did not.

Don't forget The Doors (the movie). It was going to lure young people into kundalini yoga.

It is completely untrue that The Chronicles of Narnia portray magic as evil. SOME of the magic wielders are evil, but the magician in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader is not evil, and there are several other instance like this one.

Harry Potter to the human eye look real cool. Almost incredible to look at. I agree with Mancow that it does promote sorcery. Snow White and the Wiz of Oz....I am not sure of those.

Why? What does it matter to you what a particular movie grosses? Don't see it if you don't want to add to it. One thing that irritates me about some of my fellow conservatives is that they are such busybodies!

Sam, that's kind of like saying a person couldn't be bothered by Clinton's high poll numbers while in office. Why do so many people want to deny Christians their first amendment rights when any leftist nutjob is given a free pass daily. We might complain, but no one denies them their right to speak. Heck, Ap just did a pure puff piece on Larry Flynt suing the government for not giving him permission to go into Afghanistan with the troops and cover the war for Hustler. No opining from the press.

If we want to be real, we should abolish Halloween. It is a satanic holiday. We should abolish tatoos as well because they are mystic in nature as well.

I was a GI Joe fan myself. He-Man always struck me as gay.

He-Man was NOT gay. Ask Teela.

YOU, NEVER HAVING MET THE PASTOR AND HAVING NO PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF HIM WHATEVER,... The pastor wrote a letter, Paul wrote a letter. Still want to stick with the "whatever?"

Heavy Metal music was supposed to turn kids into Satan worshippers too. What went wrong? How did their plan fail?

I think most of us headbangers ended up here at FR. Kids who develop a love of reading because of Harry Potter (like I did, Dragonlance novels from Weis+Hickman, published by TSR, the producers of the Dungeons and Dragons game, which I loved) have a much better shot at being educated and not falling into the liberal garbage culture. When they tire of fiction, maybe they will read Sowell, D'Souza, Bovard, etc., like I did...JFK

Damn Buffalo for trading Hasek! Damn them to Hell!

Satan is one of my favorite players. He is my wifes favorite guy on Buffalo since they traded Peca.

We both went to college in Buffalo.

She was quoted as saying something to the affect of Jesus Christ is a hoax and at the end of the world He will kneel down and suck the c$%k of our dark lord. I wish I still had the article. I think she said that to the London Times.

Uh huh...That's funny. All I can find are some overly nutty statements on a few fundie sites CLAIMING that the author spoke as you report. However there is no such actual source of the story in any of these claims, which leads me to believe that it's the handiwork of a bunch Chicken Littles, running around screaming that Harry Potter is satanic for lack of having anything better to do with their time.

There is also an INDISPUTABLE correlation between the number of churches in a town and the number of taverns. Are we to believe that churches cause drinking?

You'll have to supply me with passages from the books to convince me of that. I've read all of them and the only kids doing bad things are the bad kids. When Harry and his friends do something out of line (even when trying to solve a mystery) they are routinely caught and summarily punished. With the exception of a few 'school boy' shenanigans(which do not go unpunished), the only time Harry and his friends break the rules are usually when they are trying to protect another person or while trying to save the school from evil forces bent on destroying it. They also never give alot of 'lip' to the professors. These characters are based on British public (private) school teachers, not American 'feel-good educators', and they dole out the punishments without worrying about the childrens' self-esteem.

Absolutely, without hesitation.

But then, I read my entire post, not just your snippet.

What??? I thought everyone had access to unicorn blood!! The Centaur that lives next door to me can supply you with some if you need it. Don't worry about the three-headed dog at the front gate, it's the dragon in the back yard you need to keep your eye on.
