Geraldo In His Last Show: Clinton Is Now "Irrelevant "
CNBC | 11-18-01 | F16Fighter

Posted on 11/18/2001 6:53:44 PM PST by F16Fighter

In Geraldo Rivera's last show before he "heroicly" heads for the bright lights of the Aghanistan war theater, even he couldn't take Clinton-sychophant Tavis Smiley's ranting about the former President's "legacy", interrupting to punctuate the subject by shaking his head and saying that Clinton was "irrelevant," and even less so than former President Carter.

A "special" guest panel to share old war stories included lone Conservative, FOX's John Gibson; BET's Tavis Smiley; Alan Dershowitz and the young lawyer/commentator Abrams who's first name escapes me from CNBC.

"Highlights" included Dershowitz's claim the five Supreme Court justiced "cheated" Gore with their ruling during the Florida voting debacle; Dershowitz bragging that Clinton could have avoided the testimony that got him in trouble in the first place by a loophole had the Liar-in-Chief only listened to him; Gibson recalling and deriding Clinton's definition of what "is" is; Gibson destroying Smilley assertions that Clinton was a great President; Smiley's incessant kissing of Geraldo's @ss, and Smiley's inane assertion that anyone could have led as well as Bush during the Terrorist and War situation -- he refused to give him one iota of credit.

Subjects covered as I recall: Jon Benet Ramsey; the OJ Trial; the Bush-Gore election dynamics; The terrorism and Afganistan War...

Thankfully Gibson got his shots in and Geraldo surprisingly closed very humbly...

Dan Abrams. He likes to say "NOW," before he starts his explanations. Nora O'Donnell always like to use the word, "Cleary". I watch too much tv news.

I'm willing to give Geraldo a chance and let him start over with a clean slate. I'm not a fan, but everybody has the right to rehabilitate themselves.

That's what I thought until this last show. I thought he'd do some kind of half-apology; at least say he shouldn't have been so biased, but he continued his snickering and arrogance to the end.

I couldn't stand it... had to turn it off Friday night, but when it re-ran over the weekend, I forced myself to watch, hoping for a last minute change from him.

Now, I don't believe I'll be able to watch him ever again.

Thank for the link to the Geraldo-O'Reilly transcript -- it seemed intense! O'Reilly hammered him good and made it clear Geraldo and his shenanigans weren't all that welcome over at FOX.

If they have Dershowitz on regularly after hiring Geraldo, I will quit watching Fox period!

Same here. He absolutely DISGUSTS me!!! The slimiest lump of mammal dung ever to roll out from under a rock.

I saw Douchebag's hideous mug on Fox this morning while flipping channels, and IMMEDIATELY moved on before I barfed up my breakfast.

YES -- DAN Abrams. What an impact this guy's making on my psyche. He was only on MNBC for 42 straight days during the Election story and still...

"Now" that you mention it, "Now" is his favorite lead-in word. O'Donnell's is "clearly"? Can you think of any other idiosyncracies of other news people -- THIS IS A TALENT! Funny -- gonna have to watch for it now. And clearly you do watch too much news ;-)

"shaking his head and saying that Clinton was "irrelevant,"

Geraldo Rivera's a whimp and Clinton is hardly irrelevant...unless perhaps treason is "irrelevant!"

Yeah, Smiley's got to maintain his "street cred."

Just once I'd like to hear him go five without mentioning "slavery", "people of color", or "problems in the inner-city." To listen to Tavis Smiley is to believe NO blacks in America are able to A) Make a decent living, 2) Live ANYWHERE ELSE outside five minutes of a ghetto, 3) Believe they are vital Americans and are proud to be American.

And don't forget Stan Greenberg and his toupee! I can't remember the guest that openly poked fun at him, but it was a priceless moment. And lest we forget, the 'forehead' is still around.

I really don't understand is why FOX wanted him

Horror fascination crowd. Live reports from Geraldo will be especially popular. The thrill of never knowing when or if the live feed will stop being live.

Does anyone but moi remember that Lanny Davis is the official U.S. attorney for Pakistan? Remember that his new nickname was 'Pakistani Lannny'? Maybe he's MIA in Islamabad, sending back reports from the top of the Marriott. Good Lord, maybe he will meet up with Geraldo!!!
