Don't get me wrong though, I think we should do everything we can to protect our troops. No one should post any inside information they may have access to. However, troop movements etc are very public. The destination of the troops is being kept quiet, though everyone knows where they are going.

Also, the Bush Administration's main goal is to get a coup before any war would start, and not fight a war at all; however, to do so, the plotters need to be convinced the Bush Adminstration is serious about attacking.

Everything you see about our preparations is basically deliberate leaking. Talking about it and posting it actually, if anything, helps the cause. (Likely makes no difference at all in the grand scheme of things.)

Basically the people whining about posting information are a bunch of self-righteous busybodies trying to feel important. I've not seen a single post on FR in the last two years that would be remotely useful military information for Saddam Hussein.
It's inconceivable that any sort of "Unit X just left my local military base Y" is any sort of use to Iraqi defensive planning.
