Montgomery County Neighborhood shut-down after powdery substance dropped from plane Email story to a friend November 15, 2001 Reports of a powdery substance dropped from planes has shut down an entire subdivision. It's happening Thursday night in the northern part of Clarksville off 101st Parkway. The neighborhood is cordoned off. Police, sheriff, and TEMA officials are on the scene. Police say there were reports that two planes dropped the powder earlier Thursday evening over the Northpark/Northwind subdivision. Field tests done on the powder came back negative for anthrax, but the state lab is on standby. Clarksville Mayor Johnny Piper is advising citizens to stay calm and in their homes. He suggests you shut down your heating and cooling systems until the situation is resolved. Police say anyone with a medical emergency should call 9-1-1 and they

These subdivisions are only a couple of miles from Fort Campbell, home of the 101st. I'd expect the base to have a bead on anything flying in the area.

Which Montgomery County??? In Kansas? Ohio? Missouri? Mississippi? Kentucky? Indiana? Illinois? Georgia? Arkansas? Alabama? N.Y.? North Carolina? Pennsylvania? Tennessee? Texas? Virginia? Why, the one with a "Channel 4," of course! Duh! It's right there under "source"! Just 4 lines above "email." Geez, how much documentation does a source need?

No offense, but when you post an article like this you should include the state (at the least) wherein the action takes place.

One local station is reporting it is ash from local controlled burning, but other station says planes did show up on radar. Report says the FBI is taking this very seriously and I caught something about full criminal prosecution if caught.

Latest is the powder is the consistency of potash. State lab says no biological or chemical contaminants. EPA going back in today. People have returned to their homes. (They were kept out of the area or inside their homes for 7 hours.)Two planes were tracked on military radar and they are still looking for the planes.
