Thanks for the info (actually this is Mrs. Uni-Poster borrowing hubby's account) I don't know the Austin area very well... my brother moved there a few years ago. Glad to hear the area is okay and that the storm is moving out.

If you're trying to call there, don't get worried yet. The main road to that area, 183, is closed south of Cedar Park. The backups are said to be three hours (and still stuck). It's after 10pm here, and local news just showed it still at a standstill.

I mentioned earlier that southbound was fine; that's not true of northbound.

NOAA says the tornado threat has passed, but we've still got high-water problems (some drownings already) and traffic problems for a while. The official tally so far is 7.89 inches of rain!
